Cin7 vs Unleashed on price: Cin7 Core starts at $349 a month with 5 users and 6,000 sales orders a year, while Unleashed starts at $399 a month (Core) with 3 users and 100 sales orders a month. Cin7 is cheaper for most teams once order volume passes about 100 a month, because Unleashed sells extra orders as a paid upgrade. Unleashed wins on forecasting cost: its Advanced Inventory Manager has a published price ($149 a month on Core, included on the $729 Pro plan), while Cin7 sells ForesightAI forecasting as an add-on with no published price. Every figure here comes from the two vendors' own US pricing pages.
Both products land on the same shortlist for the same buyer: a US wholesaler, distributor or product brand on QuickBooks Online or Xero that has outgrown spreadsheets and the inventory screens of its accounting software. They overlap on purchasing, stock control, batch tracking and B2B selling. They price that overlap in very different ways, which is what this comparison is about.

Is Cin7 cheaper than Unleashed?
Cin7 is cheaper than Unleashed for most small teams on the base plan, because Cin7 Standard includes 5 users and about 500 orders a month for $349, while Unleashed Core includes 3 users and 100 orders for $399. Unleashed closes the gap only if you need forecasting, since its module has a fixed price and Cin7's does not.
The order allowance is the line that moves the bill. Cin7 counts sales orders per year and puts a lot of them in each tier. Unleashed counts per month and starts low, then sells blocks. A wholesaler doing 400 orders a month is inside Cin7 Standard, but on Unleashed needs the 500-order upgrade at $70. At 1,500 orders a month (18,000 a year) Cin7 Pro at $599 covers it, while Unleashed Core plus the 1,500-order tier is also $599. At 3,000 orders a month (36,000 a year) Cin7 jumps to Advanced at $1,199 because Pro stops at 24,000, while Unleashed Core plus the 3,000-order tier is $719. So Unleashed gets relatively cheaper at higher order counts, as long as you stay on Core.
Three first-year budgets side by side
These use monthly list prices and leave out onboarding and support, so each line can be checked against the table above. Cin7's forecasting add-on is shown as a quote because Cin7 does not publish it.
| Business | Cin7 Core per month | Unleashed per month |
|---|---|---|
| 5 users, 400 orders a month, Shopify and a marketplace, wants forecasting | Standard $349 plus ForesightAI (quote) | Core $399, 2 users $138, 500 orders $70, AIM $149 = $756 |
| 8 users, 1,500 orders a month, light assembly, wants forecasting | Pro $599 plus ForesightAI (quote) | Pro $729, 3 users $267, 1,500 orders $200 = $1,196 (AIM and production included) |
| 12 users, 3,000 orders a month, 5 channels, no forecasting | Advanced $1,199 | Pro $729, 7 users $623, 3,000 orders $320 = $1,672; or Core $399, 9 users $621, 3,000 orders $320, 2 extra integrations $78 = $1,418 |
The pattern: Cin7 bundles users and orders into steep tiers, Unleashed starts small and charges for each extra seat and order block. A small team with many orders leans Unleashed Core; a larger team with moderate orders leans Cin7. Ask both vendors to price your real user count and last twelve months of orders before you compare demos.
Which is better for wholesalers?
Unleashed is the better fit for a B2B wholesaler or light manufacturer that ships a few hundred trade orders a month and cares about batch and serial tracking, landed costs and a tidy Xero or QuickBooks Online link. Its Pro plan bundles forecasting, production, warehouse management and analytics into one published price, which makes the budget predictable.
Cin7 is the better fit when wholesale is one channel among several: a brand selling to retailers, on Shopify and on Amazon, perhaps with a showroom POS. It lists over 700 app partners, includes unlimited locations on every plan and offers EDI and 3PL connections, and its base tiers absorb more users and orders. The trade-off is that several of the pieces a growing brand wants (forecasting, B2B portal, POS) are add-ons you price in a sales call.
Both handle the purchasing side of stock: purchase orders, receiving, supplier records and costs. Neither is a procurement tool for indirect spend like packaging services, software seats or contractors; teams that need approval chains for that kind of buying usually run a separate procurement platform next to their inventory system.
Which has better demand forecasting, Cin7 or Unleashed?
Unleashed has the more transparent forecasting: Advanced Inventory Manager covers demand forecasting and material planning for $149 a month on Core and is included on Pro. Cin7 ForesightAI predicts demand and automates reordering, but it is an add-on on every plan and Cin7 does not publish its price, so you cannot budget it without a quote.
There is a third option many buyers skip. If your current system already holds stock and orders well and the real problem is deciding what to buy each week, you do not need a new ERP-style platform for that. Storekeeper is demand forecasting software that reads your sales, forecasts each SKU with trend and seasonality, sets reorder points from supplier lead times and flags dead stock, from $49 a month. Growth at $149 drafts the purchase order for each supplier, which our purchase order system for small business page walks through. That costs less than either vendor's forecasting module alone, and it does not ask you to migrate.
Is Unleashed or Cin7 easier to set up?
Unleashed is easier to budget for setup because it publishes onboarding prices: $449 for self-service, $799 for standard guided onboarding and $5,549 for full onboarding. Cin7 offers group, one-to-one and partner-led onboarding but does not publish the fees. Either way, plan on several weeks of product, supplier and opening-stock cleanup before go-live.
Questions to ask both vendors before you sign
- Exactly how are sales orders counted (per order, per shipment, including POS and marketplace orders), and what happens in a month or year when we go over?
- Does our accounting connection use one of the included integration slots?
- What is the written price of forecasting for our sales volume, and does it rise as we grow?
- Are add-ons, extra users and order upgrades discounted on yearly billing, or only the base plan?
- What renewal increase should we expect in year two, and can it be capped in writing?
