Etsy inventory management software: Etsy inventory software for stock sync, forecasts and reorders

Your best Etsy listing sells out in November, drops out of search, and the restock you ordered lands two weeks after the holidays. Storekeeper keeps Etsy quantities matched to Shopify, Amazon and eBay, and tells you which variations to reorder, how many, and by what date.

The short answer

Etsy inventory management software keeps the quantity on every Etsy listing and variation accurate and tells you when to restock. Etsy's Shop Manager lets you type a quantity per listing, but it does not sync with Shopify or Amazon, and it does not forecast demand. Dedicated software pulls one stock number per SKU across every channel and sets reorder points from your supplier's lead time. Storekeeper forecasts every SKU from $49 a month and syncs Etsy with Shopify, Amazon, eBay and Walmart, with draft purchase orders, on the $149 Growth plan.

Where Etsy stock goes wrong

Five Etsy inventory problems, and what the software has to do about each

Etsy's listing tools manage quantities on Etsy. They do not see your Shopify store, your supplier or your production calendar.

Problem What it costs an Etsy seller What Etsy inventory software should do
The same item sold twice A unit sells on Shopify or at a market while Etsy still shows it in stock. You refund the Etsy buyer, lose the sale, and risk a bad review on a shop where reviews drive search placement Hold one available quantity per SKU and push it to Etsy, Shopify, Amazon and eBay on every order, return and restock
Sold-out listings When the last unit sells, the listing goes to Sold Out and stops showing in search. Getting it back means a restock and a $0.20 renewal, and the momentum it had is gone Warn you while there is still time to reorder or run a production batch, not after the listing is gone
Variation quantities With quantities set per variation, the 8x10 print or the size 7 ring sells out while the listing still looks healthy. A single option at zero shows as sold out on the listing page Forecast and reorder each variation as its own SKU, so the fast size gets restocked first
Holiday demand Gift categories can sell several times their normal rate from late October to mid December. A reorder based on a quiet September runs dry by Black Friday Weight the forecast for trend and last year's Q4, and move reorder dates earlier ahead of the peak
Quantity limits and fees Etsy rejects any listing or variation quantity above 999, and each extra unit sold on a multi-quantity listing is charged the $0.20 listing fee on top of the 6.5% transaction fee Cap the quantity pushed to Etsy at 999 while tracking your real count, and show which listings earn their fees
How it works

From Etsy sales history to a reorder in four steps

The demo above runs the same chain on sample data. Every number traces back to a sale, a lead time or a buffer you can see.

1

Connect Etsy and your other channels

Storekeeper reads orders and quantities from Etsy alongside Shopify, Amazon, eBay and Walmart, or from an Etsy CSV export if you start with Etsy alone. Each variation is matched to one SKU.

2

Keep one stock number

On Growth, a sale anywhere updates the available quantity everywhere, Etsy included. Our multichannel inventory management page covers returns, bundles and markets.

3

Forecast every variation

Each SKU gets a demand rate from its combined sales on every channel, adjusted for trend and holiday seasonality, then a reorder point from its supplier or production lead time.

4

Reorder or make more on time

SKUs that cross their reorder point roll into a draft purchase order per supplier, or into a list of what to produce next. Nothing is sent without your review.

What you get

Etsy stock management features that keep listings live and cash free

Six jobs most Etsy sellers still do by hand in Shop Manager and a spreadsheet.

Etsy and Shopify stock sync

One available quantity per SKU across Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, eBay and Walmart, updated on every order, return and receipt, so the last unit is sold once.

Variation-level forecasts

Sizes, colors, finishes and personalization options are forecast one SKU at a time, so the reorder covers what sells and skips the option nobody picks.

Reorder points that move

No fixed minimums to maintain. When a SKU's sales double before the holidays, its reorder point rises with it. The method is on our inventory replenishment software page.

Sell-out dates

Days of cover are compared with the lead time. When a normal order or batch would land after the listing hits zero, the SKU is flagged for action this week.

Dead-stock detection

Variations with no sales in 60, 90 or 180 days are listed with the dollars tied up in each, so you know what to discount in a sale event or retire before you buy more.

Draft purchase orders

On Growth, reorder lines are grouped into one draft PO per supplier with lead time and unit cost filled in. Starter shows the same quantities for you to order yourself.

Who buys Etsy inventory management software

Built for Etsy shops that sell the same products again and again

If every piece you list is one of a kind, Etsy's own quantity field is enough. If you restock or remake best sellers, this is your problem.

Craft supply and finished-goods resellers

Beads, yarn, stickers, jewelry findings, home goods: hundreds of SKUs bought from US wholesalers or overseas factories. The job is ordering early enough that best sellers never hit zero. Starter at $49 covers one location.

Shopify brands that also sell on Etsy

Etsy is a second storefront on the same shelf. Sync stops the double sale and one forecast covers both channels. See our Shopify inventory management page.

Makers who produce in batches

Candles, soap, apparel and prints made in runs of 50 or 200. Treat the batch time as the lead time and Storekeeper tells you when to start the next run. If you need full recipe costing, see manufacturing inventory software.

Sellers on Etsy, eBay and Amazon at once

Three marketplaces, three sets of listings, one shelf. Growth syncs all of them; our eBay inventory management software page covers the eBay side.

The honest split: if your hard problem is costing handmade products from raw materials, Stocksmith is built for that. If it is running out of best sellers or buying too much of the wrong variation, you need the forecast. Frequently asked

Etsy inventory management questions, answered

What is the best inventory management software for Etsy?
The best Etsy inventory management software depends on the job. For handmade products costed from raw materials, Stocksmith (formerly Craftybase) leads from $99 a month. For simple sync between Etsy and Shopify, Sumtracker Manage costs $59. For deciding what and when to reorder, Storekeeper forecasts every SKU from $49 a month and syncs Etsy with Shopify, Amazon and eBay on the $149 Growth plan.
Does Etsy have inventory management?
Etsy Shop Manager has a basic inventory view: you set a quantity per listing or per variation, bulk-edit quantities and SKUs, and sold-out listings move to a Sold Out section. It does not sync stock with Shopify, Amazon or a physical store, and it does not forecast demand or suggest reorder quantities. Shops that restock from suppliers add dedicated inventory software.
How do I sync inventory between Etsy and Shopify?
Connect both stores to one inventory system that holds a single available quantity per SKU and pushes it to each channel on every sale, return and restock. Shopify does not sync Etsy stock on its own. Match each Etsy variation to its Shopify variant by SKU first. Storekeeper Growth ($149 a month) syncs Etsy, Shopify, Amazon, eBay and Walmart and forecasts from the combined sales.
How do I keep track of inventory on Etsy?
Give every listing and variation a SKU, turn on quantities that vary by variation, and keep the counts in one system rather than in Shop Manager and a spreadsheet at once. Once you sell on a second channel or restock more than a few dozen SKUs, move the count into inventory software that updates Etsy automatically and flags reorders.
How much does Etsy inventory management software cost?
Published prices run from $29 to a few hundred dollars a month. Zoho Inventory Standard is $29 billed annually, Stocksmith starts at $49 (Studio) and $99 (Indie), Sumtracker at $59, and Storekeeper at $49 with forecasting or $149 with multichannel sync and draft purchase orders. Watch order and order-line caps, because several tools price by volume.
Why does Etsy say quantity cannot be greater than 999?
Etsy caps the quantity on any listing or variation at 999, so a sync tool that pushes a larger warehouse count gets rejected. Good Etsy inventory software pushes 999 to Etsy while tracking your real stock internally, and switches to the true number once it drops below the cap.
